All apartments are sold on a 150-year lease (or the time left on the lease for resales).
The apartment is your home, your asset.
The key difference is the payment of the Deferred Fee when your apartment is sold. Riverstone believes the Deferred Fee fully aligns your interests and ours as we make a profit on the resale of your property.
Our fee structure makes sure that the costs of building, maintaining and running the Riverstone locations are covered for the long term. Please ask our client advisors for a copy of the Lease Summary for more information.
Riverstone’s “Value in Choice” fee structure option provides you with flexibility on how much Membership Fee and Deferred Fee you want to pay. The Options are there to provide a choice which suits each buyer’s individual financial circumstances and preferences. Available to view on the ‘How it Works’ page
Of course. We recognise that some people might want to buy apartments for their family members and our lease allows this. A family member would need to provide details of at least one person aged 65 or over who will live in the apartment. We call these people “designated occupiers” in our lease.
Information on fees and costs is available in the “All You Need To Know” Riverstone booklets, available to view on the ‘How it Works’ page.
No, Riverstone is not a care home. And choosing to live at Riverstone means that you should hopefully never need to move into a care home. Our unique Wellbeing service supports you to stay strong as you age with the aim of adding life to your years – and also means that you are less likely to need personal care than if you’d stayed in your previous house.
Even if you do need to have a significant amount of support and care, all of this can be provided at Riverstone. You can stay living in your own apartment, and remain part of your community. This is why we work with a number of respected nursing and home care providers, to make sure that any needs you have can be supported. Our wellbeing team would work with you and your family to set up the exact package you need.
Despite this, however, there might be exceptional circumstances when care at home will not ensure your safety and wellbeing at Riverstone. With the support our partners can offer, we believe that this should rarely happen but if it does, Riverstone will work with you and the people that matter to you to find a solution that is in your best interests.
All our locations are pet-friendly, so appropriate and well-behaved companions can enjoy Riverstone alongside you. Please note that pets are not allowed in certain designated areas and other restrictions may apply.
