At Riverstone, we’re dedicated to providing exceptional living experiences for those aged 65 and over. As proud members of the Association of Retirement Community Operators (ARCO), we’re part of a collective effort to uphold the highest standards of quality, care and community engagement.

What is ARCO and what are their role?

Established in 2012, ARCO serves as a leading voice in the retirement community sector, uniting operators committed to enhancing the wellbeing of older adults. As a body, ARCO focuses on advocacy, education and collaboration, advocating for policies and practices that prioritise resident safety, health care and overall quality of life.

ARCO approved

Riverstone’s partnership with ARCO offers numerous benefits, including access to resources, best practices and accreditation processes. Through ongoing training initiatives, we ensure that our residents receive top-tier, certified care and enjoy a vibrant and inclusive community environment.

ARCO provides certification and assurance that the community you choose to join can be held accountable, maintaining core levels of service and offering a respectful and consultative relationship with all residents. They also ensures transparency and fairness concerning fees and service charges associated with later living so there are no hidden costs and regularly assesses us to ensure high standards are consistently met.

While the provision of wellbeing and support is a key element of what we provide, we are also passionate about the vibrant communities we are creating.

Here at Riverstone, we believe this partnership is essential for providing peace of mind to all potential customers moving to our residences and accountability is a core value.

Advocacy and public policy

ARCO’s advocacy efforts play a crucial role in shaping public policy and perception surrounding senior living. By raising awareness of the value and benefits of retirement communities, ARCO helps dispel misconceptions and stereotypes, fostering a positive perception of aging and senior living. At Riverstone, we often find residents are amazed by the level of independence we help them achieve – something not commonly associated with retirement living.

Looking ahead

As we look ahead, the significance of ARCO in moulding the retirement community landscape becomes more apparent. With projections indicating a considerable rise in the population of individuals aged over 65 by 2025, estimated at around 14.3 million, ensuring their well-being remains paramount. It’s essential that this demographic can place their confidence in certified care providers. Later living communities are rising in popularity in the UK and open the doors to a whole new way of living. Together with ARCO, we’re paving the way for a new era of senior living where older adults can thrive, connect and age with dignity and grace.

Riverstone is proud to be part of this journey towards excellence and innovation in senior living.
